CENTAMAN has a new owner!
In February 2010 CENTAMAN was acquired by Jonas Software as a result of a proactive search by the company’s owners for a new and more strategic partner for the business long term.

This is exciting news for CENTAMAN’s customers and employees – we are now part of a top 100 software company with a proven track record of building great companies and a solid financial foundation, so CENTAMAN’S future is brighter than ever.

How does this affect you?
It is business as usual and CENTAMAN will continue to operate as a standalone company.  CENTAMAN’s management team and structure will also remain the same, with Mark Iles as Group CEO, Mike Henton as General Manager, CENTAMAN NZ and Mike Korbel as President, CENTAMAN USA.

How will the acquisition affect me as a customer of CENTAMAN?
The acquisition of CENTAMAN will have no impact on customers from an operational perspective.  The company is not merging with any other company and will continue to operate as a standalone business.  CENTAMAN is not relocating any of the current CENTAMAN team in Australia, New Zealand or USA who are all staying in place to continue to support and develop our products and in fact we plan on increasing our staff levels once the transition has been completed.  After the initial transition, our goal is that you as a customer will experience the benefits of increased investment in new and existing products and services; expanded geographic reach and applying best practices from the Jonas group to achieve best in class development, service and support.

What will happen to the CENTAMAN Enterprise Product Suite?
Both Jonas and CENTAMAN are committed to ensuring that the CENTAMAN Enterprise Product Suite will continue to be the leading product in Attractions and Leisure and plans are already underway to increase investment in enhancements to the Enterprise Product family to ensure we are delivering the richest applications to all of our customers.

Will my level of customer support remain the same?
Yes - your level of customer support will remain the same and we will continue to measure our customer satisfaction and use it to improve our support service as we have always done.

If you have any additional questions please feel free to email Mark Iles at miles@centaman.com.au

Melbourne & Olympic Parks (MOPT) is Australia's premier sports and entertainment precinct.
For the Australian Open MOPT wanted to be able to accurately count the pedestrian traffic at the entry / exit points in real time. In addition there was a requirement from licensing to provide an accurate real time head count for the new Grand Slam Oval area which provides over 10,000 square metres of carnival fun and is located between the Hi Sense and Rod laver Arenas.

MOPT consulted with CENTAMAN Systems who undertook a site survey and after considering the environmental issues of very hot summer days with over 40 degree heat and changing lighting conditions recommended a laser scanner which would connect, via the existing network, to a central PC running Traffic Insight™ people counting software.

Daniel Andrews, Events Project Manager – MOPT said ‘The laser counters worked very well for us and overall the data was very valuable, particularly at the new Grand Slam Oval where the accurate real time count assisted us in managing patrons in the area to comply with our liquor license.’
